Getting ready for the next pandemic

Déc 09, 2022

The EU-funded ERINHA-Advance project has brought together high containment labs capable of working with the most dangerous pathogens on the planet – causing serious disease and having no treatment or vaccines available.

The project was completed in the summer of 2022 and is published on the CORDIS website.

Developing a comprehensive strategy for long-term sustainability in the fight against pandemics, it demonstrates the success of Trans National Access and the adaptability of research infrastructure in changing health contexts. No less than six user projects were accommodated by providing access to the high-containment ERINHA facilities and services. Four other projects with ‘risk group 3’ status were selected after the launch of an emergency call for proposals in response to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Building on the lessons of the Covid19 pandemic and the need to strengthen our joint response capacities, ERINHA has coordinated a new EU-funded action: Integrated Service for Infectious Disease Outbreak research.
